Celebrate Bastille Day on 14 July with our fabulous cheeseboard featuring some classic French cheeses.

Designed to feed 3 people as part of a cheese and wine evening or 6 people as a cheeseboard after a meal. This would also make a fabulous gift.

CHEESE 

  • Saint Marcellin, Rhône-Alpes, Unpasteurised Cow's Milk - 1 unit  A classic small medallion-shaped cheese with scattered white and – after several weeks maturation–blue bloomy moulds. The pate is slightly firmer and less lactic when young, becoming more oozing and melting with ripening.

  • Napoleon, Hautes-Pyrénées, Pasteurised Ewe’s Milk -  200g.  In the style of other Pyrénées ewe's milk tommes (such as Ossau) but with a softer texture and a lovely nutty tang. Perfect with wines of the region, but also to be enjoyed with a fine Burgundy as the flavours would definitely enhance a full-bodied drier red.

  • Bleu D'Auvergne, Auvergne, Pasteurised Cow's Milk  - 200g. The moist, nutty flavour and beautiful melting quality of the cheese also makes it a perfect medium for cooking, crumbling over salads and steaks and vegetable dishes or stuffing into poultry. An extremely versatile cheese, notably simpatico on a cheese board.
