Product information:

This cheese board offers you a glimpse into the Alpine regions from France and Switzerland.  Valleys and Mountains are the backdrop with grazing areas that are lush and sheltered as well as protected alp pastures with their wild flora for summer grazing. When we create our boards we like to take you on a journey to give you a true sense of the land and here are four cheeses that truly exemplify the terrain.

From soft creamy textures to rich and nutty flavours which have been ripened in our cheese rooms ready for you to enjoy at your table. We have given a few suggestions for wine pairings, and they are based on a good acidity with depth of fruitiness for white wines, and reds should have ripeness without being too grippy.  The marriage of cheese and wine is all about harmony!

CHEESE

  • Saint Felicien | Lyonnais, Pasteurised Cow's Milk - 1 unit. The rind is natural & slightly dry with patchy grey, blue and white moulds. The taste is rich and sophisticated with a fine clean flavour.
  • Abondance | Savoie, Unpasteurised Cow's Milk - 1 unit (200g). High mountain cheese with a creamy rich texture and a melting fruity flavour. The smooth hard rind has a lovely russet colour from the light brine washing it receives during maturation.
  • Vacherin Mont D'Or | Switzerland, Pasteurised Cow's Milk (1 unit - approx 400g). Meltingly rich with a clotted cream taste, this washed rind cheese is only available from October until March.
  • Bleu de Vercors-Sassenage | Isere, Pasteurised Cow's Milk (200g). A high altitude (800m) production in the heart of the Vercors Regional National Park. The flavours of hazelnut and fresh grassy notes are creamy and rich with more nutty tastes in aged cheeses.

WINE

  • Jean Francois Quenard AOC Roussette Anne Sophie 2022, Chignin, Savoie
    Grape: 100% Organic Altesse

Roussette de Savoie is the local name for Altesse. This cuvee, named after the Quenard's daughter, Anne-Sophie, who has joined the winemaking team. The grapes come from 25 year old vines on clay-limestone soil. The wine is vinified and aged in 600-litre tanks for 12 months on lees.
