We have curated a selection of five delicious French cheeses that taste wonderful at this time of year:

  • Saint Marcellin | Rhône-Alpes, Unpasteurised Cow's Milk. 1 unit (150g). A classic small medallion-shaped cheese with scattered white and–after several weeks maturation–blue bloomy moulds.  A lovely gentle round tasting cheese, with marked tangy/fruity notes, especially well-paired with a southern Rhone wine.
  • Crottin de Chavignol | Sancerre, Unpasteurised Goat's Milk - 1 unit. A small flattened ball of crumbly-textured cheese with a rich smooth taste. A very wine friendly cheese.
  • Abondance | Savoie, Unpasteurised Cow's Milk - 1 unit (250g). High mountain cheese with a creamy rich texture and a melting fruity flavour. The smooth hard rind has a lovely russet colour from the light brine washing it receives during maturation.
  • Reblochon | Haute Savoie, Unpasteurised Cow's Milk (250g) - This is a rich full flavoured unpasteurised cow’s milk cheese from the Thones vallee. Very nutty with a washed tender rind, this cheese is famous for its culinary uses, especially the tartiflette. Perfect with white wines from Savoie, Altesse and Jaquere grapes.
  • Bleu de Gex | Haut Jura, Unpasteurised Cow's Milk (250g) - Sharp natural threads of blue veins work their way through the creamy slightly crumbly pâté.
